Description:The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing the safe receipt, storage, retrieval and timely dispatch of goods. They ensure workplace health and safety requirements are met and take responsibility for the security of the warehouse building and stock.
Duties:*Plans and organizes the warehouse and yard areas for maximum use and efficiency. *Supervises subordinate personnel including: hiring, determining workload and delegating assignments, training, monitoring and evaluating performance, and initiating corrective or disciplinary actions.
*Develops or modifies rules, policies, or standards, etc.
*Reviews purchasing requests or orders from various government agencies.
*Schedules delivery of merchandise.
*Ensures that there is an adequate supply of materials available.
*Orders, receives, inspects, and stores equipment, merchandise, commodities, materials, and/or supplies.
*Conducts regular and/or spot check inventories of merchandise, supplies, or equipment.
*Maintains accurate records and logs.
Qualifications:*Knowledge of warehouse procedures and techniques including sorting, stacking
*Knowledge of applicable laws, rules, regulations and/or policies and procedures
*Ability to enter, transcribe, record, store, or maintain information in either written or electronic form.
*Ability to evaluate information against a set of standards.
*Ability to maintain inventory; track receipt, sending and delivery of materials.
*Ability to assemble, sort, and/or distribute documents, supplies, and/or materials/items
*Ability to arrange, coordinate, or schedule time and details
*Ability to supervise others by assigning/directing work; conducting employee evaluations, staff training and development, taking appropriate disciplinary/corrective actions, making hiring/termination recommendations, etc.
*Ability to develop and/or implement new policies/procedures/standards and/or rules/regulations
*Ability to control or direct the operation of a program or function
